The Way of Giving Muslim Burial Shroud

The attitude of mutual respect in Islam is not only when the man still alive, even when the man is dead. Due to honor someone who died as well as the respect of human life, Prophet, has shown us how to respect when the body of a Jew passed before him, and how he expressed deep sorrow when they heard the king Najasyi (a king Christian in Habasyah) died. However, another case is obligatory on the Muslims on the other fellow Muslims who died such as giving Muslim burial shroud.

Those who are still alive have obligations to the rights owned by a Muslim who died. When these obligations are abandoned and none of them give the rights of people who died, then all Muslims in places bear the sin. Unless there is partially or person who performs the rights of Muslim burial shroud for those who died, then fell off the sins of all.

Wrapping the body is obligatory upon the living. Shroud taken from the cadaver own property if he leaves the property. If he does not leave anything behind, then his winding becomes mandatory obligation of the member shopping when he was alive. If people are required to buy the shopping but is also not able, it should be brought from volunteer. Similarly, other purposes of Muslim burial shroud are concerned with the corpse. Shroud is at least a layer of fabric that covers the entire body both men and women. We recommend for men three layers of cloth; each layer covers the entire body. Some scholars argue that one of the three layers should be izar (cloth bath), while two more layers cover the entire body.

For the bodies of men, spread out a sheet-piece, and on top of each layer were sown perfumery, such as camphor and so forth; then the corpse placed on it. Both hands placed on his chest, right hand on the right and left; or the hands are aligned according to the hull (ribs). The bodies of women should be shrouded in five pieces of cloth: lower cloth, clothing, headgear, veils, and the cloth that covered the entire body. Initially it is applied fabric, clothing, headgear, and hoods, and then inserted into the fabric that covers the entire body. Among the several layers of best fabric should be given the perfumes, for example camphor. If the person who died is in ihram Hajj, Muslim burial shroud should not be given perfumes and his head is not also covered.
